capture pilot config
Hello,
Great job, a lot of new features, and finally... a great way for renaming!! 😄
About Capture pilot (great too!), I don't really understand what I have to do on my apple computer to connect to my iphone.(airport net sharing??)
Do you have a step by step explanation?
Thanks,
Dim

Yes, that would be very welcome. The explanation in the user guide doesn't function. My iphone can't find the server. I tried to activate the sharing in system prefs as explained , but under "to computers using:" the airport option is not available on my macbook pro, although airport is up and running well.

Hi,
In Internet sharing, choose first (share your connection from:) Ethernet and than below airport.
Is it working?

If you connect your iPhone to the same network as your Mac, you should be able to connect in most cases. Only if you have some special network setup, can that connection method cause problems and you should use internet sharing. 0 -
Hi,
Same network, but not working!

It seems to depend on the wlan router settings. My experience:
- MacBook Pro hooked on ethernet, wlan router (AVM FritzBox): pilot is working
- MacBook Pro in wlan via build in AirPort: pilot is NOT working
=> there must be a problem with the network settings
Configuring normally is straight forward:
- find the pilot tool within the tethered camera pane.
- if it is not there, you need to add it
- name your Mac or accept the standard name "Capture One"
- start the server
- open the pilot app on your iPhone/iPad
- it should appear automatically, if it does not, there is something wrong with your network settings
- select your computer
- if you specified a password, a dialog automatically pops up and asks for it
- thats it0 -
hi,
thanks.
"- find the pilot tool within the tethered camera pane." what do you mean?

Hi ok I get it!
You have to open a tool that is not yet open: CAPTURE PILOT, as EXPOSURE, WHITE BALANCE,.....
And then, clic clac, it's working!! (just be sure to be on the same network!
Cheers!

Capture pilot is designed to work for tethered cameras (cameras hooked up to your computer via cable).
In the upper left part of the C1 there is a small camera icon. This is the place where you control the tethered camera. The down most tool should be "CAPTURE PILOT". If it is not available (happened to me on one system), right-click into the empty space, select "Add tool" - "Capture Pilot"
Update: Currently there seems to be no way to use capture pilot for DSLR memory cards. It is easy to map the capture folder to an existing directory, but no files are recognized...0 -
For ye that had trouble getting your iphone to connect to the pilot I may have a fix for you. My problem was that upon launching pilot, I would get a "No server found" on the iPhone. I deleted the pilot app then redownloaded the app and everything worked as advertised. No need for internet sharing.
Hope this helps

Maybe if you just really shut it down (double clic on central button, long clic on app,....) and start again the app is enough!?

I ran into the same problem and indeed the trick (double clic on central button, long clic on app,....) works like charm!
Thanks for the tip.0 -
I was having the same problem, tried all the internet sharing variations, setting up ad-hoc networks, the lot. Just re-installed the app on my iPad and it worked first time, and it's quick, too! Bravo Phase One.

mmmmm, well, after trying to use Capture Pilot on a real job today, I have some concerns.
The main problem being that the message I saw most on the iPad screen was "no server found". Frustrating.
This is after trying connecting over both a live wifi network and an ad hoc network, restarting C1 Pro, rebooting iPad, restarting server in C1 Pro, pretty much everything.
Until it stopped working, it was great.
Tomorrow, I'm going to try the auto lock fix suggested for the iPhone in another post.
Let you know. If anyone has any ideas of what I'm doing wrong, I'm all ears!0 -
Took a little messing around but it's working fine:
Needed to highlight Internet sharing but not check it.
Share your connection from: Airport
Check Ethernet
Uncheck Firewire
Very slick app. Now if only it worked with Live Preview. I know, that's asking a lot. V6 seems to be more responsive.0 -
So I can`t get capture Pilot working neither on my ipad nor my iphone - but my assistant can. We have both the same settings for our iPhone 4, are both connected in the same WLAN, but I mostly receive a "Server unavailable - Connection Error" message on IPad an iPhone while he has a stable working connection with C1.
After receiving this message the device has also lost the connection to the WLAN. Without using C1 Pilot connection never crashes
Sometimes I can get access to the capture folder, but this will last only for a very, very short moment.
Does anybody have any suggestions?0 -
Uninstalling the Software and Reinstalling the Software from your iPhone/iPad resets any preferences or associated information for that App. It should be the first step in trying to find out where the error is. 0 -
Uninstalling and reinstalling the app was my first step for about 5 or 6 times and didn´t solve the problem ☹️
Also closing the app and restarting it didn´t help.0 -
I got the same problem with the setup of my client:
Ipad2, Imac 10.5.8, Capture one 6.2
force-quit and re-installed pilot several times, tried with WiFi and with network. Ipad´s Bluetooth is switched off from the beginning.
Always the same: " server unavailable"
Is there anything else I can do??0 -

Next stop is the firewall of your Mac (CO Pro 6.2 with Capture Pilot 1.1). I noticed that on Mac, you need to open the firewall (sic) for Capture Pilot to work. You'll find the firewall in System Preferences, Security, Firewall tab. See screen shot (OS X 10.5.8) below.

I got today the same problem.
It was OK a while ago and now I tried everything but still "Server Unavailable" Connection Error Occured.
I run iPhone 4S and C1Pro7 on Windows 7. Nikon D7000
Furthermore, I made today in-app Camera Control purchase for €10 and after re-installation Capture Pilot I cannot find restore your purchase anywhere. It ask me to Buy again when I click Store button. 😭 Please help
Thanks
P.S. I have just read on Japanese AppStore review that after latet update Capture Pilot doesn`t work.0 -

You should create a support case. The Software does work but if access from your machine is restricted, there is nothing the App can do to remedy this.0
