Export to smaller size and sharpen

Awesome software

This probably is a skill question but when I recently was editing a big image from my camera in CO9 and cropped out and exported a part from the image to 667x1000px for some web project it looked nice on screen in CO9 and ok after export. But the same export to 192x288 for a preview size became very very soft, I probably need to learn a specific way to sharpen before exporting to that kind of much smaller size but the annoying thing was that when I took that first exported 667x1000 image and resized it in my mac preview app (came with my mac for free), to 192x288 with no adjustments at all, the resulting image was perfectly sharp.

Is there not any way for CO9 to figure out automatically that it needs to sharpen smaller sizes different than larger?

I tried all of the sharpen presets in CO9 and end result a little better but still much better in built in mac Preview.

If I manually edited and increased the strongest sharpen preset In the list, and made the image look extremely oversharpened when full size on screen it finally looked almost ok exported, but I think I even need to stack a couple of these presets to even get the same as the auto resize sharpen that mac Preview made for me on first try.

Am I missing something?
