Editing Previews

    Hi,

The previews are used by Capture One when the external drive is disconnected, which means that the software works only with a reduced image, the size of which is defined in the preferences. Hence it is not possible to use any tool requesting the full size of the image, such as exporting (as TIFF for Photoshop, or as JPEG), local corrections, and so on. You can only use functions applying on the image as a whole (exposure, contrast, curves, levels, colours,....). And this also explains why the image looks blurry : the definition is less.

I haven't used Lightroom for a while, but I would be surprised if an editing with PS were possible from previews only, but maybe the latest versions can do that (I checked with Lightroom 6 and it didn't work).

It is possible to process to JPG via the QuickProof JPG format, which uses the preview file to generate a JPG.
