Upggrade from C1 6 Pro to C1 7 Pro...

Hi all !

I've paid today for an UPGRADE from 6 to 7 to my retailer, and I got the new license code provided by Phase One website.

Went home very excited, then to the Phase One site, could find the upgrade file in the store, entered the former valid license code, got the message This key is already upgraded... Entered the new key, got Thank you for entering in your key. Press continue to confirm and proceed to payment. Then entered the voucher code provided by retailer, got this message The voucher code "671xxx" is invalid...

Need kind assistance to know where is precisely the upgrade file, and how to process.

Enter first the former license code or not ? Where and at which point shall I enter the new license code without paying twice ?

    Hi Michel,

    In my experience of upgrading to PRO versions, it is simple. When you uninstall your 6 PRO and install 7 PRO, you'll be asked to activate version 7. Simply enter the new license code into the fields along with your email and password associated with your PhaseONE account.

    That should solve your quagmire.

    Remember that unless PhaseONE changed policies, you are permitted two activations of your license. Meaning that, you can have C1PRO7 running on your desktop AND on your laptop OR on another desktop you own.

    I haven't got the full new version of C1 7 PRO but only a license key for upgrading.

    My vendor told me to DL only the upgrade since I already use the C1 6 PRO version 😕

    Should I download the full new C1 7 Pro version, then enter the former license key, plus the voucher code before paying, then validate with the new license key ?

    I feel incredibly deep lost in this pot of jam... 🙄

    There is only one version of CO7 to download, not full or upgrade version.
    As Ronald suggested, download and install it. Next, you activate with your new key.

    Last question before processing the dl, do I have to uninstall the previous version ?

    Edit : Found the answer in the knowledge database :
    We suggest you remove previous versions of Capture One from the "Add/Remove Programs" list before installing the latest version of Capture One.
    Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Choose Capture One and follow the prompts. This is not absolutely necessary but it will help maintain a more organized installation.

    You can have both CO6 and CO7 installed on the same machine. You might want to do that as it allows you to continue to use CO6 while exploring CO7.
