5D USB connection problems
Running 10.4.8, and Capture one Pro 3.7.6. we are trying to tether our Canon 5D to our computers.
It had all been working fine before, but the camera had to go back to Canon for repair to USB connection.
On Return it wouldn't connect to either of our machines.
But here's the thing: a borrowed 5d won't connect either, and yet it connects fine to its owners computer.
We tried to see if it would connect through Canon's own software, and it would not.
Other point: we do have the ltest firmware, and have for a while. Also, 1ds connects fine through firewire.
I think this points to Mac, and maybe to Canon and mac. Anyone else have a thought?

(At some point I remember having to replace a .kext file when we went from 10.4.6 to 10.4.7, but there have been no updates to our software since the repair.)

it might be worth downloading and trying the 10.4.8 "Combined" Updater. It replaces more things then the automatic updater and somtimes fixes things. For me 10.4.8 does not need any special fiddling with usb files to work with the 5D tethered. 0
