Supported Pentax cameras and lenses
I am using mainly Pentax cameras and lenses for my photography work. My guess is that the people who use Capture One are mainly professionals or advanced photographers. This make me wonder why cameras like Pentax K-30 and Pentax K-01 are not supported by Capture One 7?
The only supported Pentax lenses that have lens profiles are the 31mm. and the kit lens 16-55mm. WR. Strange, I think the kit lens is used mainly by non-pro photographers. What about the rest of Pentax pro and semi-pro lenses?
It cna be interesting to read what others think about this!

Alright, good news, after getting some raw files from You.
I have been investigating into the support of the k-01 and k-30 and found some issues. These issues are now reported to the developers.
Right now I can't provide You guys a timeline, as a lot of other important stuff has to go into the next release as well.
PS: The reason you should stay away from the Adobe DNG converter when wanting to use your DNG with CO, is that the converter seems to be messing with the tags in the files, making it difficult if not impossible for us to read it without misinterpretation.
However, please do remember that the support still is beyond preliminary!0 -
Christian since your request I have shot a 112 images at all different setting and imported them into a catalog and there does not seem to be a problem with unadulterated DNG's except for the fact that CO7 seems to be hit and miss in if it will generate previews.
It goes through the time consuming process of generating them, and it says it is doing just that in the activity bar but then fails to produce them so the thumbs will not display in the viewer, I checked this by looking in the proxies folder.
Then every time you switch between recent imports/or folders it keeps going through the cycle of trying to generate them and spikes out the CPU and Ram. It took five shutdowns and restarts of CO7 before finally generating previews for the 112 images imported, I was about to give up and rant just before it finally generated them on the last try, is this issue known about?0 -

No, I can't reproduce that behavior. But, as mentioned, the support for these cameras are not even preliminary yet. Let us fix the issues, step it up to preliminary, and then you can have one more go at it.0 -

Christian,
Many thanks for taking an interest in this. Do you still want more "out of camera" DNGs from K-01? If so I will raise another case (but it would be against CO 6 as I can't re-trial CO 7).
I look forward to hearing how this progresses as I'm reluctant to invest in LR as I've already invested a lot of money and time in CO (and Aftershot Pro - which suffers from other issues with K-01 files). Of the 2 products I would prefer to work with CO.

Nope, we're good for now. But thank you for offer!0 -
Looking into this issue, it seems that only the Windows version of CO 7 has issues with k-01 and k-30, so if you have mac, try it there.
This will of course not be the case when full-blown support is launched.0 -
Thanks for the update Christian. 😊 0 -
I just checked my 7.1 pro for support for the Pentax 645D and it does not look like it is available. I did send a support request as my new Pentax 645D should be arriving soon. PS6 shows it supported, but DXO does not. Pentax sends a copy of SilkyPics in the box but UGH.
