Installing COP8 update over COP7
Hi - sorry for the fairly simple and non-exciting question but...
I have COP7 installed on my Mac computer (Yosemite) and I just got the upgrade to COP8 - also for Mac (Yosemite).
Now - I received a different code for the COP8. In order to install the upgrade - do I just install over the current COP7 and everything is passed over or do I need to deactivate and then activate again?
Again, I apologise for the question, but I just don't want to make a mistake and I do want to keep my flow (and get the new stuff) with the upgrade.
Thanks,
Jeff

There should be no need to de-activate. Install version 8 and when you use it you can enter your new code.

I'd also suggest renaming your COP7 to something like "Capture One 7" before you drop 8 in your applications folder so it doesn't write over it. It's a good idea to keep an older C1 version as backup as a habit even if it wont work with Yosemite for now.0 -
Thanks 😊
It's all up and running now....0 -
And remember to backup your session(s)/catalog(s), because as soon as the new version touches these, the old version can't use them anymore. 0 -

This is done automatically upon upgrade 😉0 -

Have you updated to version 8.0.2? The D750 wasn't supported before that.

And that is nice Christian.
It's good practice though to always backup your important work before you intend an upgrade.0
