why is Media Pro so slow on PC?

I have been a Media Pro user since Media Expression 1 when it was part of Microsoft. I used it on Mac OS always.
It was fast and great. Since It became Media Pro, it slowed down, but was still OK to use.
I built a brand new PC machine with a Skylake 6700K processor and Windows 10.
Media Pro is so slow! My Apple macbook 2010 is way faster than this brand new machine.
Is this a PC experience? Anyone having experience with the PC version?

    Which rendering engine are you using (check /Edit/Preferences/Media Rendering), what are your Thumbnail and Preview settings (check /Edit/Thumbnails and Previews), and do you have any other WIC codecs installed on your machine (for instance FastPictureViewer)?
