I am on vacation this week, wasted 2 days where I could have made some process and educating myself on the program.
Hands on is always better to me that watching a video.

Support has until tomorrow by 5:00 pm .

First of all Greg, take a deep breath. Calm down.

I understand you're frustrated, but P1 support are also mere people. They're trying as hard as they can.

If you've only received one confirmation email, the first two cases didn't reach them (for whatever reason), they probably can't help that.

Then, to allow us other users to help you, note down step by step what you are doing so we can ask you more questions 😄

Don't leave out things you think are not important, they may be. Make it a list like:
    1. i am on Mavericks / Yosemite (i guess Yosemite since it's a new mac, but important to know).
    2. i open the images in the Finder and then they show/don't show
    3. i do ...
    4. and then i ...

In this way, we can find out whether it is CO hampering, just settings, or maybe your procedure.

CO is a very sophisticated piece of software, it's not fair to expect it to work for you right from the get go, it needs configuring and tuning. You may not like that and that is fine, but i'm sure the bunch of us can help you get going.

And before you know it, there's no looking back 😄 😄 😄

    Greg,
    Sorry for your troubles.
The support case you submitted (we only have record of 1) was answered 42 minutes after it was submitted, about an hour before your second update to this thread.
Please check the response from support at 6:07pm EST, December 2nd (case submitted 5:26pm EST)

I suspect, however, that this issue is quite simple.
In many Nikon cameras, it is not possible to import efficiently from SD card through the camera to the computer. To connect to the camera for importing the images, you must use a PTP and Capture One only supports Nikons SDK which does not provide access to the SD Card.
As such, if you would like to import to your machine first you can use your Mac's "Image Capture" application to connect via PTP to the camera and import from SD card to a local folder. The resulting images can then be imported to a Capture One catalog or simply accessed in the existing folder via a Capture One Session.
If you would like to import to your machine via Capture One directly, you will likely need to use a SD card reader to properly mount the storage device and allow it to be "seen" by Capture One's import feature.

If no Card Reader is available, please use the first method by importing to the system via another application.
