Brush size not visible

    Hi Thomas,

I'm seeing the same thing. Lower than a certain value, the brush size "circle" seems to disappear - so it's not just you.

It might be worth an email to technical support.

    Hi,

The workaround is to zoom into the image. As soon as the image is magnified enough the brush size becomes visible again.
The thought behind this might be that brushing in a mask with a too small brush is not precise enough when zoomed out.

Same here. I have a 21" mid-2011 iMac and the brush tool disappears when its too small. That makes sense since the tool's size has to scale with the view and the native resolution of the image. When I zoom in to 100% it reappears. If I continue making it smaller it will disappear again until I zoom into my image more.

Thank you everybody for your suggestions. Sometimes it helps to zoom in and out, but more often than not after rediscovering the brush tip I lose it again as soon as I move the mouse. And it doesn't come back, so most of the time I'm busy chasing the brush tip.
I just tried and zoomed into an image at 100 %, then I tried brush sizes form 25 to 250, none of them gave me the size of the tip. I can't see a pattern, the program seems to behave erratically. Considering that serious repairs have to be done in Photoshop anyway it is probably no big deal and I'll leave it at that.

    Regards,
    Thomas

Local adjustments works quite good in Capture one but the disappearing brush circle is irritating, i am just eyeballing it with the mask visible, but hopefully it will be corrected in a future release of the software 😊

Just out of curiosity, do you use your display in native or scaled resolution?
There have been issues like this one when using scaled.

@ HansB: I use an iMac 24" in native resolution.

Another tip - the brush may disappear if you move it out the image while brushing, for example into status bar on the bottom, side bars on the left or right, etc. It happens 90% of the time for me.
