Processing of pictures
Hello
Maybe I made a mistake today ;-(
Please see screenshot.
If I see pictures in viewer or browser and mark one picture.
When I have defined settings in register processing.
If I click on the button than the marked original will be modified on base of the settings?
Yes or No.
The indicator in the corner of the picture show that this picture is'n the original?
Yes or No.
Can I reset the processing?
Yes or No.
Or must I import the original again?
Yes or No.

Hi Jochem,
Maybe I can help you best by sharing some basics about CO7.
First, there is the raw file from your camera or digital back.
When CO7 opens the raw file, it only reads the file. It never writes anything to the file.
When reading the raw file, it creates a thumbnail and the larger preview file. This is what you see in CO7.
Next, all your adjustments are applied in memory to the preview/thumbnail to give your real time information on the end result. The raw file remains untouched and is not even read during adjustments (there are a few exceptions but that is not relevant here).
Last, when you process your raw file, CO7 reads the raw file again, makes some very complex computations while taking your adjustments into account, and creates a new file, typically a JPEG or TIFF file. So now you have still your original and unchanged raw file, plus your TIFF file created by CO7 with your adjustments. These adjustments are stored in a separate file by CO7. The processed indicator is shown in the thumbnail for reference.0 -
@Paul
Thanks for feedback.
I have some experience with APPLE Aperture and nondestructive manipulation of pictures.
Sorry for my feedback, but I will understand the CO workflow.[quote="Paul_Steunebrink" wrote:

a) Thumbnail I see in browser?
b) Larger preview file I see in Viewer?
c) Or thumbnail I see in browser and viewer?
d) Or larger preview file I see in browser and viewer?[quote="Paul_Steunebrink" wrote:

You mean with adjustments shutter speed or aperture for example.
Do You agree?[quote="Paul_Steunebrink" wrote:

The right say that I have done manipulation(s) with this picture, sharpness, gradation, cut for example, see screenshot 2

Do You agree?
The left say that I have done the process with this picture, see screenshot 3
