Apple Fotos extension/IPad App
Hello,
does anybody knows, if there will be an interface/intergation to the apple Fotos App/Library in future.
The Fotos library integration in the apple World is very good an other Applications offers extensions for Fotos
or allows to edit the pics on the Ipad an merge them in the Library.

what the hell beneficial when using Apple Fotos ?
you are only using a Photo Browse for showing your JPG files !
the workflow there is crazy !
if you would like to make professional RAW edit, you have to jump around from app to app adding layers on a jpg files the result is just like a beauty women with ugly Make up 😂 compressed jpg image , the worst thing that you get to know most Plugins have same functions build inside that you get to bay .
and just bee ware that you don't lost your workflow mind when working on. the return button move you very far away back.

One BIG reason to use Apple Photos is SPEED!
Browsing through your Library, selecting and sorting Images, searching and even editing Images is so much faster with Photos, compared to C1.
Even if you work with RAW files.
And the seamless Integration with iOS devices is also a benefit for many users.
With the release of macOS Sierra it will also have Image recognition, so photos automaticly knows what the Content of the Image is, or where it has been taken, and you can search for that in a fast way. And all of that without sending the Images to apple (like Google does it).
And what you said regarding the jpg is also not true!
Photos can hand out the RAW Image to the extensions, so you are able to make edits based on the RAW file.
It only sends a JPG back to Photos when you hit the save button. But the original RAW is still there, if you hit "back to original". The only downside is, that if you once have made an edit with an Extension, all other following Edits will be based on the JPG. But for the initial edit based on the RAW, an C1 extension would process Images in the same Quality as the stand allone app.
To be honest, I am still thinking about to use photos as my main library.
Just because C1 (9.2.1) is still so slow on my 2015 i7 iMac Retina, compared to photos.
The whole DAM in it is a nightmare, compared to it.
I am actually testing the "External Editors for Photos" App, where you can use any external Editor with photos, and send the edited files back (as JPG). For my workflow as a hobby photographer it might be OK, because I usually don't edit my photos multiple times.
PhaseOne really shoul invest more resources in Speed and a better DAM!0 -
I do not see any speed issues in CO on my new 27" iMac Retina, mid-level machine, i5 I think, and only 8mb RAM. Plus, I keep my Preview image resolution pretty high (but not the highest). Not that I wouldn't like it to be faster but there is nothing about the current speed that makes me think it is unusable, particularly for an amateur. It seems as fast or faster than LR to me. (Camera is a D750, approx. 24mp.) 0 -
With my machine (iMac Retina, 4Ghz i7, 24GB RAM), it takes 2-3 seconds until a selected picture is displayed in full resolution in the viewer! If I go trough my pictures it always displays a pixeled version for 2-3 seconds until the full resolution images appears. And that alone bugs me! And my Images are stored on an 1TB SSD, so I assume there is no bottleneck.
Compared to photos it's a nightmare!0
