Setting defaults in C1

I have a custom curve and want to set C1 to default to this curve and Film extra shadow. How can I set these as the default?

    This cannot be done. You may make this a Feature Request through the software under Help > Technical Feedback...

    A few clicks of the Mouse at the Exposure tab will set your desired settings.

    >Select 1st image of a Session
    >Set to Film Extra Shadow
    >Select rest of the image Thumbnails for Session
    >Clik icon, Apply these... to current selection of captures

    Then you will so the same with select Load Gradation Curve
    Select your custom curve, and Apply these... to current selection of captures

    Thinking it should be a simple matter of saving the default film curve file for my camera, then copying the film extra shadow curve to that name, I tried this, but apparently the internal name is also used. It didn't work. Shouldn't it be possible to do this to at least changed the default curve?

    Film standard selection box is where to choose which Film Curve is applied

    Film Standard: this is the default film curve

    Film extra shadow: this curve applies slightly more detail to the shadow areas of an image

    Film outdoor: this curve is especially suitable for use in outdoor daylight. The curve is designed to gain data in the high light areas whilst still maintaining contrast.

    Linear response: exact linear response will transfer the Image as it was taken with the camera, without the application applying any filtering or adjustments. This is especially useful for scientific photography and very high contrast scenery.

    These are the choices. You cannot make a Custom Film Curve and set it as the Default or even as a choice. But You Can... create a Gradation Curve or a Custom Camera Profile and Save it to be used over and over.

    Gradation Curve can be created and Saved at the Exposure tab.

    If you have a Custom Camera Profile, be sure it is placed in this location to come up as a choice in Color Management:
    C:\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM32\\SPOOL\\DRIVERS\\COLOR

    Hi Keith,

    What I was referring to was using/renaming the actual curve file that is stored in ..\\Preferences, such as the \"Canon EOS 20D Film extra shadow.fcrv\" and the \"Canon EOS 20D Film standard.fcrv\" files. Since this seems to be where the data is for the individual film curves and for the specific camera model, it seemed logical that swapping one for the other would give a de facto change and that C1 would just take the data.

    My confusion is that there also seems to be an internal tag that's being used, or some other method, in addition to the actual data file for each film curve.

    However, thank you for the information (I do sometimes use custom curves as you suggest). The original poster was after something more sticky, which lead me to try this for a work around that unfortunately doesn't work around :-)
