The profile for the Sony RX100m2 was greatly improved. In V7 it was nearly unusual with a magenta cast - had to use color editor to cut that.
I do find I need to rebuild the preview, sometime multiple times, to see the change.

Thank you! However, the profiles for those 2 cameras have not changed since v7. The d800 got a new default profile some months ago, while the d4 is untouched.

If you experience crashes, please be sure to submit the crash-reports, as they are of great value to us, and helps improve the product for you and all the other users.

    Hi again Christian,
Again thank you for quick response, but I see very different colors of outputs made from the same D800E NEF files with CO7 and CO8. It's true. In case of D4 the difference is less pronounced, but visible. And all that about defolt settings.
As of ugly rendering of light, nordic type skintones of white ethnicity people, I wrote of this issue to Niels and he kindly
offered me to send him the samples.Of course, I did that next day.

It was more than 3 months ago. No word back yet. I realize that every and each of your team is very busy and it would be quite enough for me to get just three words like "Too busy, wait." But nothing. Silence. Honestly, I can't understand why then Niels did offer all that - I didn't asked for help, just expressed my opinion.
    OK, let's cut it.
However, ICC profiles of CO8P, espesially for D800E, give more pleasant skin colors than those of CO7P.
Again I have compared the outputs from the same NEF file made with v7 and v8 and they are way different, excuse my persistence, please.
    ------------------------
    Update
It's not a matter of new v8 engine. I've tried both 7 and 8 engines processing the same images in CO8P
and haven't seen any difference at all.

    Update #2

To my very sorry, after a few days of in-depth working with CO8P
I have to say that I'm already not so enthusiastic about the ICC profiles, new engine and
colors of images. Yes, v8 gives better results and some outputs from NEFs are outstanding, but the others
painfully recall me those ugly brick earth - like tones of CO7P ones. Clearly, it depends on many factors,
but I'm only a working photographer and can't judge and explain all whats and whys.
And now I see that not all images look as brilliant as the first ones I've done with CO8P.
As I wrote several months ago, Color Editor Tool almost doesn't help to overcome this - adjusting one color
affecting similar and not very similar ones too, whatever level of Smoothness is set.
So, my main problem is still there and isn't fully solved yet.

    Sorry...
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you again for your quick response and attention .

    Best regards,
    Mike.

IIRC, CO 7.2.3 has new profiles for the D800/E and these new profiles are the same in CO 8.
If you have not used the new CO7 profiles, CO8 is a nice surprise.

I believe this is what Christian meant in an earlier post.
