SOLVED: Strange icons all over Capture One 9.2.1 interface
Hi All,
I'm a new entrant to the Capture One world & trying to defect from Lightroom.
I'm still learning to work with Capture One beyond the very basics and love the colors in comparison to Lightroom.
However, there are a microphone & refresh/pause etc. icons on lower right hand side of almost all tools in the Capture One interface.
Sometimes, after a reboot, these icons go away, but if I close Capture One & open it again, the icons are back again. Sometimes, even a reboot doesn't help & the icons are there.
The icons are present on the splash screen & some tools, but not on the others. Present in the viewer but not in the thumbnail browser.
They are not visible on any other application, just Capture One. I'm not sure when they started.
I did a fresh install of Capture One on another laptop & they're not there, so it looks like I'm the only one blessed with them. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling. I even tried the archived previous version of Capture One 9.2. No difference. The icons just won't go away.
I've tried to search on the Internet, but didn't get any matches for this.
Here is my rig:
Laptop with Intel i7 6700HQ CPU, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia 960M graphics card, Windows installed on SSD.
Running Windows 10 64-bit, up to date with latest hotfixes, Capture One 9.2.1 64-bit.
Other notable applications include Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve and a few games.
Attaching a screenshot with the screenshots showing the icons I'm complaining about.
Hope there's a valid reason for them to appear.
Thanks,
Jp

Dear me, I can't seem to upload an attachment.
Instead, sharing a link to photo bucket for the screenshots:

Oh boy!
It seems I've been barking up the wrong tree.
I raised a parallel case with Phase One Tech Support. Their answer within 20 minutes:These icons are not part of a feature with Capture One. I suspect you have another program running which is placing them on items on screen. I did a google search and this thread is the closest thing I could find to a possible cause: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/ ... 531288551/

It's Nvidia GeForce Experience Shadowplay. Open up geforce experience, click on the shadowplay button in the top right, and turn off audio on the shadowplay control panel that pops up. That should fix it.
Its been more than a year & Nvidia GeForce Experience interface has changed a bit, however, its still up to its old tricks.
Yes, I have Nvidia GeForce Experience, which has the option 'Share' turned on by default, which 'Allows you to record, stream, broadcast, and take screenshots of your gameplay'.
Seems it was detecting Capture One & its individual tools as game components & enabling me to record them. ☹️
Turned it off & I finally have these annoying icons away from Capture One for good.
Strange it only shows up in Capture One & not any other application. Maybe due to the way Capture One is built.
Anyway, my heartiest thanks & appreciation to Phase One Tech Support for clearing up something which I spent hours trying to troubleshoot.
Closing thread,
Jp0
