Hey we're disappointed too. We've made several requests to Fuji and really want to add support for this camera but need their help decoding the system.
I would urge anyone that wants this support to let Fuji know we are interested in getting their help.

In the end we understand that you need to use the software that meets your needs and we wish you luck.

    Drew,
Earlier in the year Fuji were touting around looking for people like Phase One to collaborate with to get RAW support out to the general public.

I think a direct approach by PhaseOne to Fuji would be well received.

    Hello,

i've mailed no later that yesterday "fuji club expert", mentioning their lack of support for third party raw software developers. here's what the guy said :
"regarding 3rd party raw support, it's up to the software publishers.
Indeed, Fujifilm has given the necessary material to the software developers for RAW handling. It's now up to them to release those updates."

There's also a post about a possible ongoing partnership with fuji and developers here :
    http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/post/50103835
(it's only a rumor for now).

and here's an interview of fuji, where they also mention that they're working with dev :

Since there is now a second camera from Fuji (X-E1) using the same sensor I would expect to see some additional takeup by users and desire by all at PhaseOne to get this sensor into the supported list.

There needs to be something we can do to help find a solution without simply sitting around and waiting for Fuji to hand over their algorithms. There are a number of people working in public to sort on the mystery of the x-trans sensor. Perhaps we can get more collaboration from a broader community? Or, is this corporate politics and something we shouldn't waste our time on?

Would it be possible to know if you're at least working on it?
if yes, could you tell us when to expect a potential update?

Last thing, Fuji says they're working with developers (see previous post),
    you say they're not helping...
May be you know who we need to contact to ask them for C1 support
    (may be i'm just naïve)...

Anyway, keep up the good work.

I am adding my voice to the requests here. If anyone know who in Fuji we need to contact, please advise.

That sure sounds good. I have just received the X-E1 and would really like to keep using the C1 along with my Nikon D800 as well.
Looks like it will be a good Christmas here in Norway!

Same to me - I really enjoy the results of my D800-NEFs with C1 Vers.7. I'm really looking forward to do the same with my X-E1-RAFs. Hopefully you make a better job than Adobe on the x-trans-files!!

If you're looking for beta testers, we'll be happy to put it through its paces on X-Pro1 and X-E1 files!

Recently downloaded the 60 day trial. I have never used Capture One software before but think I can work with it and will
buy if a good implementation for the Fuji's is offered.

As anxious as I am (actually, I'm getting desperate!) for the release of the Capture One solution to the X-Trans raw file conversion software, I need to keep reminding myself to allow their development team adequate time to make sure they've got the magic recipe. This task appears to be a particularly difficult one (several others have tried and failed) and it's imperative that they get it (mostly) right the first time. There probably will be tweaks made to it further down the line but I think everyone is looking for C1 to offer a significant initial improvement over what is currently available.

I have tried C1 in the past and never felt it offered much over and above LR. I am happy for that to change if they present us with an excellent RAW conversion for the Fujis, though I can't help feeling that an update from Adobe won't be that far away.

I am sure Phase One do want to get it mostly right first time. What would be good, though, is for us to be able to submit some of our RAW files for them to work on, just to make sure! On the other hand, maybe they already have many of these from beta testers and maybe we need not fret much longer as I suspect all will be revealed soon!

please... can I hope work on captue one with my fuji X-PRO1?

    Well my friends,

I guess that right now, patience will be our only reward.
It's been almost a year now, since the camera has been released
and yet there are no DAM making full use of the X-trans potential.
There might be reasons for it.

Fuji intends to use this sensor on more products (like the incoming X200)
there is the Ex-1 now, so companies working on that
will hopefully get the money back from the time invested into
    demuxing the X-trans.

We're just at the beginning of something new, we will see if
this new sensor concept is a good thing. Once again,
this is all about patience in a world where we expect
everything to work perfectly from the start.

Whilst it is nice to get it right first time sometimes it is better to release and get feedback.
At least then we have a product that we can use.

I find the lack of communication from PhaseOne about what they are working on, even in general terms to be frustrating.

On other sites we keep hearing rumours about possible C1Pro support for the X-Trans sensor. I have the X-E1 now, and love its JPEGS, but a proper Raw processor would be a true Christmas present.

Happy to beta test, too; I have c1Pro 6 but would upgrade to 7 in a heartbeat for this.
