Full view not same as thumbnail

I have edited a catalogue of photos. and all was ok until today. Now, going back into CO Pro 8, all the thumbnails show the changes I made (convert to B&W), but none of the rendered images show the changes. What happened?

    I would start with a verify of the catalog (File menu).

    Don't know whether this applies also to catalogue but I've had this in sessions mode when there were many images in a folder and after their normal full colour conversion I created an old image looking sepia version with vignetting. The thumbs showed the change but the images only after a restart. I'd guess it's related to the need for re-creation of a larger amount of full size previews - but I could be wrong.
