Filters Tool loses all options but search
Hi all,
Has anyone noticed an issue where their Filters tool loses all the options except for the search bar? I keep having to remove the filter tool from my Library tool options and re-add it to get the filter options (Star & Color rating...) back.
Thanks
Ira

Probably depends on your screen resolution and how many tools you have in your Library tab.
What happens if you minimise some of the other open tools in the library tab?
Alternatively drag the tool out of the tab so it is floating and drag it back in there when done? Simpler than deleting and re-adding, possibly.0 -
Thanks for the suggestion, I tried pulling the tool out and placing it back in the Library bar and it didn't reset. Not sure why screen resolution would be an issue, but it's a 2560X1440 display, and I only have the default tools on the library bar.
This is so bizarre, I'll have to see if it happens every time I start the application or only after I import images. I guess I'll have to submit another bug report.
Thanks again,

Just to confirm here - we are talking about the tools in the library tab - Library and Filters - right?
I have noticed that if you have the Library tool size options set to "Auto Size " and expand all of the sub sections it tends to fill the vertical height of my screen. That makes the Filters tool invisible.
Minimising the sub sections of the library tool does not release the and Library tool in that situation does not see the return of other tools in the same tab.
Minimising the Library tool then redisplays the Filters tool (in minimised mode) ready for opening.
Running the Library tool in small, medium or large mode seems to keep the size down and allows the Filters tool to display in at least minimised mode and tends to retain screen sharing between the two tools at all times.
Do you see something like that or something different?

You are correct, I have library set to auto size, but I have a huge open space below the filters search bar (which is the only thing I see). I too a screen shot of the Library bar, so you can see what it looks like and that there is a large open space where search options should be listed.

Try changing the setting to Large rather than Auto to see what you get.
I'm using Sessions rather than catalogues but in theory the results should be much the same.
That said when I started to look at this if I did not have a selection of folder or Album/Smart album that had at least some images in it the filter tool would present just the search option as in your screen shots.
As I experimented and went through different ways of trying to reproduce the problem in order to describe the situation changed and the filters sub sections appeared even when an empty folder was selected.
I'm not sure why the behaviour should change and I have not bee able to return the system to its previous behaviour so far. It only seems to happen in Auto size mode if it does happen at all but that alone is not enough to present the problem
I will keep your observations in mind and watch for any further events that give the same result as you have illustrated.

Thanks Grant.
I hadn't thought to simply change import collections to see how that effected the filters, but simply changing to a different import collection brought back the complete filters menu. The same thing happens when using Large or Auto.
Very bizarre, but now much less of a hassle.
Thanks again!
