    Hey,

    I've two questions:
    1. Can I upgrade the base characteristics engine (to new c1 pro 9 engine) in multiple images at the same time or is this only possible on each single image?

select all raws/variants, check (if not already) "Edit All Selected Variants" ( C1 menu : [Edit] -> [Edit All Selected Variants] ), do the deed, unselect all, uncheck (if you don't need it) "Edit All Selected Variants".

But you might not like the result. Images will look a bit different with the new engine. It certainly offers different and probably better results, but if you have got an image adjusted just the way you want it already, changing the engine could mean that you have to redo some of your adjustments - for example contrast produces a bit of a different result now, and you might have to tweak it a bit to get the result you were looking for. I'd be cautious about upgrading the engine on images that I was already happy with.

    Thanks, it works! But ...

Yes, that's a good information! So it was not a good idea from me to plan an upgrade from all existing (finished) images. 🙄 Now I will use the new features (new engine) only for new images and leaf old images untouched.

    Thanks!

you can do the following :

    1) select what you want
    2) clone variant for those selected
    3) upgrade (cloned are not selected - they will stay v8)
    4) label upgraded with some keyword to distinguish from v8 engine
    5) etc, etc

but that certainly add complexities, I do not like how variants are implemented UI-usability wise by P1 in C1...

    2. If I enter a new value in levels tool, e.g. "0.20" in midtones I would like to use only the numlock to enter the complete string faster. But there is only a comma and this will not be accepted (0,20) .. only a dot (decimal point). Is there a way to "learn" c1 to accept the numlock comma?--

I have found a workaround to use only the numlock keys to enter a value. Pressing the "alt" key will change the comma into a dot. Anybody known a "fix" to change the numlock comma in a dot permanently? (changing decimal settings in control panel doesn't work for me)
