Nothing. There is no support for any of the 4/3 or m4/3 lenses.
    Shame on Phase One.

I'm sure if we saw a large demand for this type of feature, through the support system, we would be happy to look into providing support. I don't know that we can be held accountable for not implementing support on something that has very little, if any, demand. Please provide the specifics of the lens and we'll pass the request onto the software departement.

By far the most problematic Olympus 4/3 lens is the ED 12-60 f2.8-4.0 SWD with its moustache distortion.
All other by me owned 4/3 lenses are correctable with the Lens Correction Tool by hand to some extend.
I do not own any of the new m4/3 lenses, so I don't know how problematic distorsions they have.

The best solution would be extend the Lens Correction Tool to correct moustache distortion by hand. You can see this solution in the Picture Window -software.

    Tappari,
Can you please create a support case and provide an example?

    Drew,
First of all, thank you for your prompt attention to my query. It seems that many of the Micro 4/3 users are using Lightroom which has this support built in. I have been using C1 for many years now and love my workflow. My 5d MkII images look magnificent after a little C1 Love.

The lenses I use most in order are: the 12-50 M 4/3 kit lens, the Oly 17mm 2.8 pancake and I just picked up the 14-150 superzoom which I am not sure I will keep just yet. I am also considering several Primes (a combo of oly and panny's). Seems odd that you have no demand considering this camera can barely be found in any store.
Let me know what I can do to help.

Please create a support case and we will log the case with our Software Developers for further investigation/review.

    Hey,

I'm doing most of professional work with a Canon 5D2, but using Olympus E-P1/P3 for years as "walk around"-cameras only in JPEG (which offers a good quality for point and shoot pictures). I've now switched to the Olympus E-M5, which offers a really great picture quality in RAW, so i'm going to use it for landscape and travel photography.
I'm now searching for a good picture editing software for both cameras (have only used DPP/Photoshop before). At the moment, I'm testing Lightroom 4 and Capture One 6, that's why I'm here. After the first test days, C1 seems to me the better solution for my needs, with one great exception: lens support.

Lens correction is essential with micro four thirds, because most lenses are designed to be corrected electronically (distortion, vignetting and CA) and therefore lack optical correction to some point. Because of this, the lens correction data are placed in the lens firmware and written in the RAW files. All RAW-converter I know just read this correction data out of the file and then correct the lens, so it should not be complicated to implement in C1.

At the moment the missing lens support is the only reason for me not to purchase C1 and going with Lightroom 4 at least for the next years, although C1 is the better solution quality-wise for me. If you are going to implement it in C1, I'm not going to buy your software, but also recommend it to my colleagues (Olympus sold six E-M5 just because I showed it to my colleagues 😉 ).

    Best regards
    Sascha

I guess it just amazes me that for the price of this application you have ZERO support for micro 4/3 lenses where as LR4 seems like it has full support. Did the format catch you off guard? Or do you have no real intention of supporting it?

    Richard,
If you are addressing Phase One, please be aware that this is a User to User forum.
In regard to support for this or any camera format, we are always working to improve the software and with the proper resources we would be delighted to add such support.
Unlike other software available, we create support for each camera, lens and file type ourselves. The cameras are purchased or loaned to us, tested in house and support is built from scratch. If we add support for systems like those listed here, we need them in our hands to do so. This, I hope you can understand, may take time.

You are welcome to create a support case and request such support through the proper channels.

I'm in the same boat having been a long time CO Pro user ☹️
Having recently moved over to m4/3rds completely (Olympus OM-D E-M5) I know how important software based lens distortion correction is to this format, particularly for wider angle primes and zooms.
What I can't quite grasp is that if the information is apparently included within each RAW file why Phase One can't implement it in the same way other top RAW converter developers have? I just hope that with the fast developing interest in this format Phase One will see fit to seriously investigate this gap in their feature list.

By the way I have raised a support case and received a pretty standard answer...
"In regards to future plans for supported cameras and lens told it is out of our hands in Support to answer this - we kindly pass the request to our R&D management group. Thanks for the feedback and for trying out Capture One'.
I guess the support person didn't check that I have been 'trying out' CaptureOne for the last 5 years 😕 😉

This thread came as a real surprise. The added cataloging features of C1P7 piqued my interest, but I'll stick with Apple's neglected Aperture software if Phase One isn't performing corrections for m43 lenses.

AFAIK µ43 corrections work for Panasonic bodies, but don’t with Olympus. Does anybody know whether this has changed with CO-7? I have no sensible way to just try it out as I only own one µ43 lens which isn’t too problematic, rest is adapted.

    Cheers,
    -Sascha

I haven't seen any information about this yet. Maybe someone from PhaseOne will reply and let us know if the m43 lenses are fully supported in the new version.

Okay, they aren’t with Olympus bodies, just made a comparison test with Lightroom 4 and an E-P2. But perhaps Panasonic?

    Cheers,

My interest was with Oly bodies... Most of my glass is Panasonic but I am using an OM-D EM-5.

I'd love to see Olympus Zuiko m43 lens support on C1. I use an EPL3, 14-4mm and 9-18mm lenses for travel work and both lenses suffer significant barrel distortion at the wide end in RAW files. Olympus's RAW conversion corrects this (nearly) but I'd much prefer to use C1. Phase One might even be able to improve on it!

I hope the pressure for support is being passed on.

Have you created a support case?

If not you should. That is then managed route to record and progress enhancements and changes within Phase's systems.

Yes, please to create a support case. The more of us that do the higher the priority for getting this added. For the time being I am not upgrading to C1 V7 since Adobe LR4 does support auto corrections for m4/3 lenses. I will continue to use C1 V6 for my 5D MkII files and use LR4 for the Oly files.
