V. 6.1 and .EIP
It seems that v. 6.1 Pro supports EIP for non Phase One Digital backs raw files (in my case, Nikon D700).
While I can see the advantages (just one file instead of 3 - or instead of 2 if I delete the proxies) I'm not sure of the implications.

Jean,
This feature has been available for some time now.
The idea behind it is based mostly on archiving and file transport. Rather than sending someone files with instructions on how to ensure association with Settings and Proxies, you simply send them an EIP and all the data is present without hassle.0 -
If a RAW file is packed as EIP can it be unpacked without using CO software? 0 -

Yes, but it not the preferred procedure. Not tried myself but hear-saying: it is a ZIP file, but the original file name might be lost if you unZIP (or unEIP) without CO.0 -

The name won't be "Lost" just misplaced. The nature of unzipping gives the unzipped "Folder" the "ZIP" name and the contents within default names. So the files name will be taken from the RAW and labeled as the folder. The RAW will be renamed "0.IIQ".
However, this can all be avoided by unpacking the EIP in Capture One.0 -
Thanks. This is what I wanted to know, as long as there is a workaround in case CO is not readily available. 0
