Q: which Canon do you use?

Tip: uncheck the Sony provider from Preferences, Capture tab

    Sorry Paul,
didn't see your message. So, I tried it with several Canon cameras (1dx, 5d II+III).
Furthermore just with the checked box "Canon".
    OSX: 10.10.3
    newest MBP 15" retina

First, it looks like it works, but after a few seconds the progress bar of the incoming pics freezes.
New to me is also that the option "pause after" does not cause an "immediately" after reaching the last pic by clicking. If I'm not completely wrong, this is how it worked in the past: The user was able to flick the images by himself but as soon as he reached the last one, CO went into "immediate" mode. Didn't it?

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
I'm experiencing the same issue with my 8.2.1 setup shooting Canon. Specifically, I'm changing from Never to When Ready.

Will keep an eye on this thread to see how it is resolved, but of course it's always best practice to submit a bug to PhaseOne.

    Hi

Auto Select new image has nothing to do with the tethering working or not.
It only reflects behaviour in Capture One once image is on the computer.
If anything the different SDKs can interfere with each other.
Canon's SDK is the worst one of them all (hopefully something we will do something about soon)

Go to Capture One menu -> Preference -> Capture
Uncheck all Providers except for Canon.
    Close capture one and relaunch.
This helps in the vast majority of cases with Canon connection issues.
Of course things like to long/bad USB cable/port in camera and removing other devices on the USB port should be also checked as this can cause connection issues as well.

Seems like it does, though! Because I just had the very same problem today on a shoot! Luckily I've found this post, because I had no idea, why tethered shooting wasn't working anymore.

I've tried with 2 different Canon 5D Mark III, two different MBP retina 15" both running OS X 10.10.3 and CaptureOne 8.2.2 and 8.2.1

I also disabled all other camera profiles besides Canon. Tried 4 different USB cords . . . I was going crazy‼︎

Tethered shooting worked for 2 pictures and then got stuck and only show "pending . . . " forcing me to force quit captureone and restart the Canon. Then again - two frames . . . and stuck again.

After reading this post, I've set Camera➔Autoselect New Capture➔ to anything but "Never" and it all worked again without any flaws.

This is definitely a bug in CaptureOne (version 8.2.2.8 e2365af)

Yep, it definitely affects the workflow of shooting tethered. Back then I tried everything Ulf suggested - nothing worked though. Please fix that bug - it wasn't there in earlier versions of C1. I didn't open up a support case. I guess you are now aware of that issue, right!?

    Always open a Support Case.

The information from you system log files may be useful to work out what is going on. It may be something rather specific to your configuration and for others that are similar specs with similar software loaded. Or it might not.

If it was something that was likely to affect everyone all the time I think we would all know about it by now.
