Hi- I recently purchased CO4 Pro and am trying to figure out how to deselect just a single item in the browser. For instance, say I selected 30 images to process, but change my mind about one of them. I thought that I could just click on the item with the Ctrl key held down, but it doesn't work. The Ctrl Z command simply deselects the last item added, so this doesn't solve the problem. This is such a simple feature that I'm sure that I'm missing it. Any help?

I think that you have discovered I flaw that I haven't seen described before. However, if you're seeing the same behaviour as I am, then there is a way to do it.

With a number of images selected, ctrl-click on the thumbnail you want to remove from the selection - it will become the primary selection which is obviously not what you want. Ctrl-clicking again does not do anything.

However, if you now right-click on the thumbnail to bring up the context menu and then ctrl-click on a part the thumbnail still visible, then it will be de-selected.

I suspect that the intended behaviour of ctrl-click is to cycle around 'unselected'->'selected'->'primary selected'->'unselected' but it does not quite work.

Thanks, Wade. This works! Could the designers of CO4 fix this so that the thumbnail is deselected by simply pressing Ctrl and then left clicking on the image?

    Thanks

This works as it should for me, Control+Click selects and deselects single images.

Terry, what version of Capture One Pro are you using, and what is your operating system? I'm using CO version 4.7, and Windows XP Professional (SP3). There must be a reason why your works as it should, and mine (and Wade's) does not....

    Steve,

exactly the same operating system and version. I'm having problems of another kind. Capture One is stopping Photoshop from running Javascripts...

    Cheers,

    hi wade
for further info - just downloaded cap one 4.7 (not pro version )and selected a few images in browser then tried to deselect one with ctr + click but didn`t work. However tried your method which worked ok- THANKS- as steve says much better to have the ctr +click to remove a selected thumbnail

Hi Brian- thanks for confirming this. I'm new to this forum and don't know whether the designers of Capture One actually read these posts, or whether I should file a bug report through a separate e-mail. What is the proper procedure to follow? In your experience, if a bug is found, has Capture One been responsive in addressing it?

    Thanks

    hi steve
I did have one problem with ver 4.0 in that the various displays ie curves/ levels/adjustment displays etc were all cut off at the bottom.
I detailed the problem to phase one support who replied promptly.
After further replies and questions offering suggestions to overcome the problem ( all answered quickly but to no avail ) it was then suggested that I update to the next version which would cure the problem. It wasn`t causing me any real problem and the program worked fine so at this point having read of other problems on later versions I decided to wait before up grading whichI have just none (ver 4.7 ).
The problem does not exist in 4.7 - no problem with upgrading and so far all is working ok .So in my case -yes they did answer quickly offering suggestions and since the problem did disappear by upgrading I presume someone did take action
Why not send your query to the support team and see what response you get- we may all benefit
Maybe it would be a good idea if occasionally phase one provide a list of specific problems they are aware of and are investigating
    all the best

Thanks, Brian. I submitted a ticket to Phase One about this a few days ago but have not heard back. Will give it a few more days. Will let everyone know what I learn. For something this expensive (at least the pro version), I would have hoped to receive at least an auto-reply acknowledging receipt of the message. Nothing yet...

Perhaps this is the exception rather than the rule. Happy to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

This issue has been reported to us and indeed Capture One 4.7 contains such bug.
Capture One 4.8 which will be available on our website shortly contains many fixes and also corrects this behavior, so please download Capture One 4.8 when it becomes available.
It will be a free service update for all users.
Thank you very much for reporting this problem to us on Support website.
