They seem to have FINALLY fixed the "set as default" for Sharpening / Noise Reduction bug.

I posted this reply to another post as well. Am I missing something or are all the Canon Rebels able to be tethered except the T1i . I see the 500 D which is that camera is now supported but why can't I tether the T1i?

Am I missing something else as well? The Rebel T1i do not seem to be seen in 4.8.2.

    Lanny,
It is not uncommon that tethering support will follow with a time lap after raw file support in this business. There are two reasons for that.

First, Canon (in case of your Rebel X1i/500D) must first update their Software Development Kit (SDK) with the new model before 3rd parties can extend their software. Next, implementing tethering takes more time than creating raw file support for a new model.
I think that Phase One did the right thing in not waiting for tethering but bring out raw support for new models earlier.

I get that but the program doesn't see the files from the camera. I put T1i files ing the capture folder that I created in a session but they do not show up. Am I missing something? For now at least I want to be able to convert the files from the camera.

Apparently the 500D is and the Rebel T1i is not (yet) supported in 4.8.2. Disappointing of course but in line with the release notes.

    Hello

If you have a Rebel T1i, please contact support and provide us with a RAW file and we can have this corrected as we have done with previous version in the Rebel series.
Why it is not in the software is due to regional limitations in access to the cameras.
(Phase One is Based in Copenhagen, Denmark and there by have local access to 500D which is the European version)
This is also sold as Kiss X3, we would appreciate files from this version as well.

I think that if you will go to Imaging Resource web site you can download samples of RAW files that are from "Canon EOS Kiss X3" based on what PhotoMe reports when you open the raw file downloaded from there - here is the link to the files :

Well I believe I was a bit quick on the trigger.

The Kiss X3 is supported while we did prepare of T1i support as well, we simply in this case presumed that Canon would keep existing naming convention. Unfortunately this was not the case.
Canon change file identification, this camera is known as "Canon EOS REBEL T1iâ€, and not like the previous cameras in the Rebel series where it would be “Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL T1iâ€.
This will be corrected in the next release.
