You need a Macintosh with a PPC processor.

    Hi Axel-
The CS3 plug-in works for PPC-based Macs however not for Intel Mac. There are no current plans to create the plug-in to be a universal binary.
Workarounds: use the Plugin with CS2.
However please remember , the Moire utility is built right into the current Capture One Pro Mac software, which works with 16 and 8 bit files at the RAW level is actually the better tool for your moire issues.
    kind regards-

Hi Axel, I disagree with JRA that it is a better tool, because you can't select the area it is applied to very accurately. It works on really mild moire, but needs the ability to select the area with a lasso.
I would either use CS2 as advised, or export 2 versions of the image, one with the filter applied, and then blend them in CS3 using quickmask.
    Moire is a pain!
    Cheers

Hey all, I have a better workaround than reverting to CS2, especially for us folks that don't have CS2 installed anymore. As follows:

    Install the filter to CS3.

Make sure Photoshop is not running.

Do 'Get Info' on the Photoshop Application.

    Check 'Open using Rosetta'.

Open CS3 and the filter will now work, of course running under emulation and therefore much slower.

You will of course want to switch the program to Rosetta only when you need to use this filter, or if you require more coffee breaks. 😊

I actually recommend trying this method for any essential plugins in any other software that are not working anymore on intel macs. It usually seems to do the the trick. Although not ideal if you have to use them frequently due to the slower performance.

This is only one more confirmation that the software development team in PhaseOne is in a damn bad crysis. We pay 500 Euros for a software that lacks REAL and complete support for new hardware and platforms, like Intel processors, Leopard OS and Photoshop CS3!!!

    Good work PhaseOne.

    Ciao

The plugin is a cry from the past and is a discontinued product.
Most people want to use 16bit files anyway and we have a a much better tool built in the software.

Lets end this discussion here when what needs to be said has been said.
