How many people experience this ?
With my leaf aptus II7 I have no problems shooting tethered into capture one under SL.
However when I switch to my 5DMKII it's not that good, during a session its about every 5-10 minutes I have to wait and lay the camera down for up to 2-3 minutes before capture one awakens from a kind of sleep state (frozen) to download all the files at once, after that I can continue shooting till it happens again, often within a few minutes.
I'm running the latest version.
I even switched macpro's recently from a 2008 8core to a 2010(2011 bought) macpro 8 core.
It drives me nuts to be honest.

Hi Franck
Hope you're doing well 😊
I can't help you on this, but if I were you, I would send a support case to Phase describing your problem and send them your system infos (Apple Menu -> About this Mac -> More infos-> Save as (xml format)).
They are very responsive (generally within 6 hours) and helpful.
Kind regards and best souvenirs from OPF 😉0 -
Thanks Nicolas.
Already did this a while ago and heard it was something with the Canon SDK, but the problems keep popping up when I shoot with the Canon and it's been a while now, so I wondered if more people experience this to make a case to canon.0 -
Frank, are you up-to-date with your Canon's firmware? 0 -
Yes, I always update the firmware as soon as it's released and there are no reports of cameras exploding 😉 0 -
Any chance that the camera is "sleeping" between shots? And are you shooting with a card in the camera? 0 -
It will have to fall asleep while shooting so that can be ruled out.
It happens both with and without card.
Do you shoot tethered with the 5DMKII yourself ?
And does that work flawless ?0 -
We use Canon 5DMarkII's also and with v6 on MacIntel boxes tethered. The Canon's do indeed go to sleep when using battery, but we also use them with a power cord. Since upgrading to v6 we have consistently experienced the application failing to respond in any way, which necessitates a force quit and re-start. I have also noticed that images being captured will appear on the contact sheet, but fail to process completely and they show up in the preview window soft, also requiring a force quit and restart. Very annoying, and was not a problem with v5 0
