Tip: in CO8 > Preferences > Capture tab, disable all providers but Canon and restart CO8.

    Hi Paul,

Thanks! That worked. Weird - I never had to do that before.
This is also the first time support didn't reply to my support case.

Anyone have trouble with this combo?
Was working ok (on 8.3.1), then I didn't use the computer for a few weeks (clients computer) and now doesn't work. Tried 8.3.2 - same thing. Downloaded 8.1 and tethers fine. Also successfully tethered to a Macbook Pro with same camera and 8.3.2. Anything I'm missing here?

    Hey!

Oddly enough I started having problems with tethering my 1DX too. I find that it starts working, then crashes and unable to tether, the camera tool just keeps spinning and nothing happens. Boot it up with an older version - works fine. Tried to replicate it in a test at home without success. Seems like a computer restart does the trick, as re-installing software does not help without wiping plist files. Can't put together enough evidence to send to support just yet.

Running new mac pro / 10.9.5 with 8.3.2 & Canon 1DX with latest firmware (several tether cables tested as well as different ports).

Have you already tried the solution provided here (the one with disabling the Providers)?

Yes I remember trying but it didn't work. Waiting to get this problem again and record screen capture trying everything out!

Update : after a week with no problems connecting on the same equipment - suddenly today no connection with 8.3.2
Back to 8.1 and no problems.
    Typical C1P issues.

    More problems tethering with a 1Dx, C1P 8.3.2 and 8.3.3 on a 2013 Mac Pro and 10.9.5
Works with same camera and C1P version on laptops but not the Mac Pro.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Using 10.11.1 and 8.3.4 I also can't connect the 1DX to my laptop (late 2013 macbook pro 13") nothing happens..

I have tested it on 10.11.2 and it couldn't connect after unplugging 1DX, seemed to crash after it went to sleep. After c1 restart it started working again and I couldn't get it to crash again! what camera firmware are you using?

For this reason I can't upgrade to El Capitan yet, as when 8.3.4 crashes I have to go back 8.2x. The whole 1DX issue came along after 8.3 update, with colour wheels etc. Ever since it's been glitchy, and I've made support case.

This issue is with a 1DX and a 2013 Mac Pro only on 10.9.5

Works fine on a Macbook Pro and same Mac 10.9.5 and C1P and 1Dx

Makes me think there is an issue with the Mac Pro video cards and on of the C1P updates?

Can anyone confirm whether a 1Dx on 10.9.5 and C1P 8.3.2,3,4 tethers ok?

No, it only tethers glitch-free on 8.2.3 on OSX 10.9.5. I'll upgrade my tower to 10.10 and see if that fixes it.
