    Picman,
    This error, in the events window, simply means what it says. That Capture One could not generate a preview.
    The cause for this error could be attributed to a few things. The one that occurs most often isn't really an issue at all, the error just appears because Capture One tries to create (generate) a preview before the RAW file is completely written to the Hard Drive. No big deal, as it simply tries to create one a moment later and succeeds.
    If you don't see any previews but see that error then create a support case and we'll look into it.
