Getting started with importing & organizing...
I have finally been able to import some images into C1 and now am working on learning how to use C1. I have searched a bit for answers to my questions. I apologize if I didn't do a thorough enough search and my questions are a repeat of someone else's post.
1. What is the difference between IIQ and Tif?
2. Since I am unable to see any photos that are in the albums or projects within a group, I have decided to not use groups at all. (At least for now... until I figure out the purpose of having groups i.e.) I have begun to structure with projects and albums within projects. Since this only gives me two levels, I then have albums that group a number of projects together. For example:
2000-2010 (album)
2014 (project)
---2014.1.5 (album)
---2015.9.18
---2015.12.1
2013
---2013.4.10
---2013.5.9
I have a couple problems with this. 1. I sometimes have to move images into the albums twice because the first time they only are visible when I click on the album, but the project shows no images at all. This is despite the fact that the images show up in the albums and there is the image count number next to the album names. 2. The Library panel on the left is divided into three sections, but I am not able to scroll within each section individually. Instead, they all move together. This is cumbersome when there is a very long list in the Folders section and I have to go to each one, select images and then find the place in User Collections where I want to move the images to. -- So, is there anyway to somehow condense the long list of folders in the Folders section (there are no organization levels) and/or a way to view the selected folder's name in the top of C1 (like being in the Mac finder) and/or is there another work around to make this easier?
I'm sure as I learn more about C1 my organization will change a bit. However, if anyone knows of a way to get another level in, so there can be a "folder" titled "2000-2010" and have all the projects and albums for those years within it, please let me know.
3. When I have been moving images into albums that are within a project, after I move images into an album the project collapses. This is frustrating. Any idea why this is happening?
4. Is there a way to select multiple projects and/or albums? I seem to only be able to select one at a time.
Well, that's it for now. Thank you!
