Process to TIFF, I get RAW...PhaseOne Support not working
Hello, desperately need help...PhaseOne Website is having errors and I can't file support ticket...
I'm using Mac OS 10.5.8...the batch processing to TIFFs with Capture One 5.0.2 (from Leica M8 DNGs) is giving me random RAW files instead of tiffs. They say TIFF in their file type but open as RAW when read in Photoshop CS4, having to go through "Camera Raw 5.6". Tried re-processing these same DNG files to different folders, one at a time and still get the same error in saving.
(Strangely, Lightroom 2.6 has no such issue...)
Tried filing a support ticket with Phase One but I erroneously receive a message that my software isn't registered ("No product is registered to your profile") despite the fact I purchased and downloaded it from Phase One last week.
OK, so let me check my registration...PhaseOne menu options on website offer no provision to register software (only list "Back", "Camera" and "Lens" as product types). I try again...and get directed to a nonexistent page (404 error).
Someone please help. I merely want to process my files to TIFFs and not the buggy RAW file generation. An assignment deadline is near and I am my wit's end.
Please. A little help. ML
P.S. It is not very comforting when the very PhaseOne website will neither recognize my software nor allow a tech support ticket to be generated without sending me to a widowed page (404 error...page not found using Safari 4.0.4 and Firefox 3.5.6).

UPDATE: to test if the new C1 is buggy, I reinstalled CaptureOne 4.8.2 from TimeMachine and this problem goes away on the SAME Leica M8 DNGs-to-Tiff.
Conclusion: it is CaptureOne 5.0.2 that is buggy with my MacBook Pro (OS 10.5.😎
Model Identifier: MacBookPro
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.5 GHz
Now if the PhaseOne website were only working, I could file a proper SUPPORT TICKET.
Any helpers out there?

You have CS4 set to open tiffs in camera raw. You have to turn it off under camera raw preferences. The tiffs from C1Pro are fine. CS4 has a feature that it can treat TIFFS and JPGS similar to raw files. 0 -
This is a known issue related to XMP files in the raw folder:

Interesting, but Photoshop CS4 should recognize TIFFs as TIFFs, not as CAMERA RAW.
I scroll through a folder of TIFF exports (from batch process of 43 Leica M8 DNGs with same settings on all) from CO5.0.2 and see SOME of them read (from inside Photoshop CS4) as TIFFs and SOME read as CAMERA RAW. They should all be consistent, not random, with same export settings.
When I change the Photoshop CS4 "open as" setting from CAMERA RAW to TIFF on these affected CO5 exports, they seemingly open as TIFFs. When I save them back out as TIFFs and try to reopen them in CS4, they STILL read as CAMERA RAW in open dialog. Regardless of whether I apply LZW, Mac or PC pixel order.
CLEARLY an issue with CO5. This does not happen with same TIFF file exports when I use CS4.8.2 or Lightroom 2.6.
And most importantly, no XMP files exist alongside my files (per "known issue re the presence of XMP files..").
So the question remains, when will the bug be fixed? Has my upgrade investment been in vain when I could/should have stayed with CS4?
I wish I could file a proper SUPPORT TICKET but alas, the PHASE ONE website still appears to be suffering an issue.
All good questions that deserve attention.
Best,

When creating a support case, skip the 'registered product' item. It is for PO hardware only. Fill in Operating System, Camera, Software and Subject.0 -
Great, thanks for the tip on submitting TICKET. Filed, awaiting response.
