Which version of CO6 do you use? Are you on the latest release (6.3.2 currently)?

I would start with a full deinstall-install cycle as explained here:

Sorry, forgot that tidbit... I'm running CO1 6.3.2.

I gave the complete reinstall a try and it doesn't have any effect on the issue. After open up a session and placing all the windows in my normal configuration, I saved a custom workspace and quit CO1. I relaunched the app and interestingly, the main window very briefly flashed in the correct placement, spanning the center & right monitor, but then, before any content was drawn to it, jumped the left edge of the left monitor and behind the Viewer window. I tried to employ the new custom workspace I just created but the windows did not move. I'm at a loss on this one and not even really sure who's purview this falls under, PhaseOne or Apple. I just know it's a somewhat annoying inconvenience that never existed before and I wish it would go away.

    Thanks,
    Brion

    Hi Brion,
I have had the same problem with the last two versions of C1 😕 albeit with two monitors not three.

I have my main view on my right monitor and my viewer screen on my left monitor, and like you, every time I start C1 it looks like it's going to open correctly but then the windows both open in the left monitor, one behind the other and I have to drag the main screen back to the right monitor.

Sometimes if I have saved my workspace it works once or twice but then goes back to the left monitor again ❓

Just in case that may help, I happen to have the same behavior when I launch C1 trhu an old .col (C1 V 5) session file…
I have to create a news session (after having placed correctly my 2 windows in the 2 monitors) to replace the old one… then everything comes back to normal… 😄

    Dave & Nicholas,

Wow. It's actually a relief just to know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. 😊

I'll be out of my studio for the holidays but I'll test the "session" trick as soon as I return and post my results. But, in the meantime, I'm curious how many and what type of video cards you guys are running and how you have them configured?

    Thanks,
    Brion

    2x2.8 Quad-Core Intel Xeon - RAM: 12 Gb
    Mac OS X 10.6.8

ATI Radeon HD 2600 - for palettes in CS5.5 and Browser + Tools for C1
    1280 x 1024

ATI Radeon HD 5870 - Open CL to Auto
    Nec 3090 - 2560 x 1600 pix

I don't run Lion as I don't see any improvement for my use (I have it installed as a test on my MacBook Pro).

I've tried the "session" trick and it worked for one launch. After quitting and relaunching, the windows opened to the left monitor again.

I had noticed that my machine seemed to be using the left monitor in the boot sequence and thought that might have something to do with it. By following the steps described here:

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/19 ... 0&tstart=0

I was able to make my machine boot of the center screen again but the problem with CO1 persists.

I have also noted the now all my dialog (save, open, etc...) boxes in CO1 default to my left monitor, not my center one.

    That's it for now.
    Thanks,
    Brion

Sorry for the delay in answering but I have been away.

Nicolas, I tried your tip as well, I deleted the old .col file, created a new one which is still a col.5 ? (should it be a col.6 file)
but with exactly the same result as Brian.

It's not a big problem for me to move the screens back into place each time I start C1 it's just annoying to have to!

I'll do some looking around on this but would appreciate a support case to get the ball rolling.
I would imagine, but have no real evidence to support this, it's due to the Lion OS' change to accommodate the new Full Screen feature (http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/full-screen.html).
This would most certainly effect the way windows are saved or interact with preferences.

This happened to me under SL…
I cannot reproduce as I've used my "trick" on all old sessions.

Although that trick may have seemed to work for you, it does not seem to be a necessary step as the Session holds no information regarding the Window Layout.

    Hi Drew,

I have set up a support case now. #96979

Your suspicions seem likely to me, too.

    Thanks,
    Brion
