The first bug fix release, 4.5.1 is out today, beyond that we cannot release a timeline as there are many factors that influence release dates. What I can say is that we hope to release feature updates every few months as they are ready and bug fix releases will come as needed.

Thanks Jon. I'm very happy to see sort by ISO return but 4.5.1 is still much, much slower than 4.1.2 for browsing from image to image. C1's great strength for me was the speed that I could sort through, correct, and process a large number of files and this slowdown in browsing speed is a killer. Any word on why it has slowed so much and whether or not it may be addressed in the future? I'm running on a Quad core Intel MacPro under OS X 10.5.5.

PS - I'd also really like to see a sort by processed status.

    Hi Jeff,

One of the main reasons why Capture One 4.5 is slower between images is that it is focusing for the specific zoom you are at. This way you are getting a significantly more accurate preview image. One of the thing we are working on that will eliminate this as a problem is GPU support so that preview generation and focusing will be routed through the graphics processor. The end result will be near instantaneous focus.

    Jon,
Thanks so much for the reply. It's very comforting to know that Phase One is aware of the issue, recognizes that it needs to be addressed, and is working toward a possible solution. Phase One has not always been the most communicative company to deal with so it's nice to hear a little of the roadmap for the future. I appreciate the need for an accurate preview at any zoom level but for me personally, I'm generally only editing white balance, exposure, and the tone curve in C1 (I do the sharpening, cropping, etc. in PS) so the speed is more important to me than the focus accuracy but I recognize that may not be true for others (any possibility of letting the user choose speed vs. accuracy?). Thanks again for the response and I'll look forward to the future improvements.

This is really good news, lets hope it happens soon.

    That's fine!
How much RAM and chanels will we need then on the graphics chip set?
