Global presets (styles?) in Import dialog?
Hi!
So AFAIK there are no global presets (or shall we call them styles?) in the Import dialog. Could you please confirm before I file a feature request?
Say for instance I have a passion for bridges (to each his own 😊). I shoot a lot of bridges on a regular basis, so when I import photos of bridges:
1/ I set the "Import To" subfolder to "Bridges"
2/ I select the adequate "Naming" preset ("Bridges"+date+counter)
3/ I select the adequate "Adjustments" preset (to add the "Bridges" keyword directly on import)
Now if I import some other stuff (random photos taken on holidays, pictures of family members, whatever), and I want to import bridges again later, I have to go through the tedious 1-2-3 process again. With the risk of skipping one of the steps and having to correct things after import (if I ever notice I've made a mistake!). I could very well end up with badly named or untagged pictures, for instance. Which is not cool.
Because of that, I think it would be a good idea to have "global" import presets/styles (one of the very few features I miss from Lightroom).
What do you think?
P.S. : I managed to "combine" steps 1 and 2, so to speak, by creating a default "Destination Folder Name+date+counter" preset. But still…

Feature request acknowledged by Phase One. Let's hope they'll revamp the Import dialog soon. 😊 0
