mac getting slow
hey guys,
CO1 8.0 and 8.01 are really great, but when I try to export a bunch of photo's the mac is getting slow. When you try to move the mouse or click in a menu everything is getting very slow.
I use the 2011 imac with and and the MBP 2014 retina 15"
What is going on here?

Try to look at your RAM use. 0 -
Simply deactivate GPU-Acceleration for processing and everything will work fine again.
Kind regards,

Deactivate it?
I thought it was supposed to speed things up using that?0 -
GPU-acceleration rarely works..... It works well really only on the MAC Pro and even there there were a bunch of bugs....
Leave it off
A feature of CO0 -

Surely if it works really well on some specs but not on others one might suspect that machine configurations and OS supported card drivers (or their like) might be a more likely source of problems than the 'standardised' code we might expect to be in use.
Unless, of course, the supplied third party "open" code is full of its own anomalies where its developers have "tweaked" things over the years to get things to work at all.
There is always a potential danger to using someone elses code. In an ideal world one would have enough resources to employ people to write and test dedicated operating systems specific to the application and running natively on a pre-chosen processor. At least that way you have total control and responsibility for what is going on. Probably a bit too expensive to deploy such an approach in the modern world. We can dream ...
