Fixing hot pixels
I have a recurring hot pixel that appears even at relatively low ISO. It is eliminated by simply setting the Single Pixel slider to 1 (one).
It would be nice to be able to do this as a user preset for the Single Pixel slider.
But if I create a preset for the Single Pixel slider, I imagine that I will then override the automatic analysis of the image that Capture One does. So for images where Capture One would think that a higher Single Pixel value is needed it would still remain at 1 (as per the pre-set). (On high ISO images the automatic analysis often sets the Single Pixel slider to e.g. 10.)
This is unfortunate.
What I really would like to do is:
- set the single pixel slider to *a minimum* of 1 (one)
- but if Capture One analyses the image and thinks that the Single Pixel slider should be higher, then I would like it to automatically adjust that slider to a higher value, as it would normally do automatically, in the case when I have not set a User Preset.
Any idea if/how this could be done?
I guess it could be done by initially applying a Single Pixel setting to "1" for all images manually and not setting any User Preset at all. But perhaps there is a better, more clever way of doing it?

Per,
Two thoughts occur to me.
I know that one of my cameras has 3 or 4 hot pixel issues but to be honest I can't remember where they are because at some point in the normal processing routine they disappear. (They are not always visible anyway - it very much depends on the subject matter and whether I am looking at them at full size.)
If the hot spot does not disappear in processing would it be possible to create a "dust" fix default and map the spot out that way? I would think you might try this using an LCC file.
HTH.

Grant,
(sorry for the late reply but the forum notification does not work for me for some reason so I didn't know there was a comment)
That sounds like a good idea! The issue is similar. I'll try that.
It is also so that the hot pixel is only visible on certain types of images, or rather, it is only visible when that part of the image is dark or dark-ish and the ISO is fairly high (but not too high since then the automatic hot pixel correction steps in).

What about using the spot / dust removal tool with a small diameter? Since the hot pixels don't move one could copy the correction performed once to the clipboard and apply to needed files. 0
