repeatable crash in 5.0 and 5.0.1

When shooting tethered (at least with a Canon 5D), C1Pro repeatably crashes when trying to switch sessions (with either the file menu or the little toggle in the library tool). Once it crashes, repeated launches of C1Pro won't connect to the camera and just gives a spinning beach ball. I tried trashing the preferences with no luck.

    No I haven't tried a different camera, but if I can't shoot with my camera than the upgrade to 5 is pretty useless to me. I don't have another one present.

    Forgot to note that I am running 10.6.2. I also tried restarting the computer, with no change in stability with C1Pro5

    Just wondering if you happen to have DPP and EOS Utility installed in the same computer?

    yes I have DPP and the canon utility. I have been shooting with 4.8.3 with no problems on same computer. Tried to upgrade and reinstall fresh to 5.0.1 (delete preferences and restart machine) and 5.0.1 consistently crashes. upgrading 5.0.1 was the only software change made to the computer
