As far as I know: no, it is not possible.

Thank you for the response. I'm disappointed that live view for Canon is not supported fully. Not being able to rotate the view for the orientation of the camera makes the live view support pretty useless. Why is there a button titled "rotation" in the live view menu? Hopefully this will be addressed in an update.

I think this depends on the supplied Canon SDK. If it's not in the SDK, Phase One can't implement it. Drew please chime in to verify or refute this.

Secondly, the 'button' you refer to, are you talking about the "Rotation --" label above the "Frame Rate --" label? Both are under the "Live View Info" tool menu. This is for Phase One compatible backs and reads the rotation from the built-in accelerometer / image orientation sensor and displays it for you. Ditto for the frame rate.

We can wait for Drew, but I had the same conversation on the POCP forum and the team basically confirmed this. The functionality hasn't been baked in to Canon's SDK so Capture One can't support it yet.

As someone that quite regularly shoots product It's extremely disappointing that I have to fall back to EOS utilities for a proper implementation of Live View. Yep. I know it's not laziness on the part of the PhaseOne dev team.. but it's still extremely inconvenient.

    Confirmed.
If you can rotate the Live View on the Cameras screen, you can rotate the Live View in the software. To my knowledge no DSLR's offer this so neither can we.
In the future it may be possible to implement something to flip the video signal before it's displayed but that's something that would take some resources to explore and will likely cause other headaches so for now, it's a feature request but not a top priority.

Canon's proprietary software EOS utility allows you to rotate the live view, that's why I figured it would probably be a function in Capture One 7's new live view support for Canon.

Software is the operative word there. As stated, it might be possible down the road.
