No, but you can select which photos you want to import.

at the moment i have about 350 photos on my camera.

When we go to the zoo next weekend maybee there are about 200-300 more.
that is a lot of manual work for something a programm should do on its own...

You should file a feature request if you think it's an important flaw (link in my signature).

Select the images you wish to import during the import process.

Also create a copy of them (normally used as a backup) that your also copy for your wife to use.

Using import you can change the sort order so that, for example, the most recent images on the card appear at the top of the list of images.

You can also set a filter or filters to select images before import. So, for example, you could select for a specific date (your visit to the zoo) or for any images taken in the last week or since the date you can recall that you last imported any images.

I have, in the past, used software that in some way kept track of what had already been imported (Canon Zoombrowser did or does that as I recall) but when I started to use other software that did not attempt to track images already imported (it really only applies if you work with a single catalogue for all images in my opinion) I did not miss the facility at all.

But that's a personal thing. At the time I really started using C1 I was mostly importing images to sessions, ensuring I had multiple back ups for the content and then formatting the card for re-use. So the question of managing previously imported images never came up.

If you wish to make an enhancement request John Doe's suggestion is the way to do it.

    HTH.
