If you're convinced that the PRO version - as yet unseen - is what you want but you wish to use the current Capture One V4 in the interim, you have two choices:
1: Purchase the PRO 3.7.7 version now which will allow you to use the the current Capture One V4 until the pro version is released - the License code that you get with your PRO 3.7.7. purchase will allow you to activate the current V4 until such time as V4PRO is available. The purchase price for 3.7.7 pro is 499Eur.
2: Purchase V4 now and then upgrade when the pro version becomes available. The Upgrade price is currently 429Eur.
The problem with the first approach is that when you upgrade to v4 pro, you will use one of the 2 product upgrades (major releases) that you will be entitled to.
The problem with the second approach is that you will end up paying slightly more - ~29Eur. assuming that there is no change in price for the v4 pro version when it becomes available. This cost difference will, of course, be offset by the interest accrued on the 400Eur difference in price in the intervening time and so may not end up being a real cost at all.
The advantage of the second approach is that you can lay out a relatively small amount for V4 today and then defer the decision as to whether or not to upgrade until after you have seen it.
As regards, time scales, V4 Pro is currently expected in 2008 but no firm date has been given - nor will it be. From the V4 beta experience, I would guess that the Pro version final release is at least 3 months away but it could be longer.
If you haven't done so already, you might like to download and try the current 3.7.7 pro version (it has a 30 day trial period). This may help you decide which of the two approaches to take.0 -
