What did Micro$oft do for EM2?

I have used iView ever since it was included as a trial with a Nikon scanner (I think). I bought it and received a free upgrade to EM1 when MS bought it and upgraded once and noticed that the old smooth graphics had gone. I was happy with what it did for me and I did not want pay MS for EM2. According to a comment on Version Tracker this was over $US100.

I still use EM 1.0.2 to this day and was relieved when it worked on Snow Leopard.

I am grateful that Phase One has given me the opportunity to download EM2 and I puzzled as to what MS did to justify a new version. It looks the same to me. Can anyone enlighten me?

I will continue to use 1.0.2, which is rock steady for what I want to do.

    Thanks for that. Now what I need is a user guide and there doesn't seem to be one, neither here nor on the MS site, either for Mac or Windows. There a Quick Start Guide, release notes for Windows and for the Reader.

    I wish I had seen the offer for EM2. Just found out about the ownership transfer and am hoping it will be improved!

    faster import/thumbnails. But most important, stability. I've gone from some catalog corruptions through the years to....touch wood....none.
