If I start a batch process how do I stop it and get the orange gears off the images?

    On the Batch tool tab (3 cog wheels), Queue tab, there is a Stop/Start button below.
    The processed state icon in the thumbnail can be removed through the Adjustments menu, Process History command.
    (CO 4 & 5, regular & Pro/DB)
