Moving images from the laptop to NAS
Good afternoon,
I wonder whether it's possible to move both raw files and edits from a project stored in my laptop to a computer. The calalog in the laptop contains both raws and edits. The computer has a single catalog with many projects, the attached metadata and the edits, whereas the raw files should be stored in a different location (NAS) and not inside the catalog. Can you please provide me the instructions to transfer these images?
Many thanks,
Martin Deshji

if you're wanting to move from 1 machine to another, you're better off using sessions. 0 -
Hi there,
I think I've managed to achieve my goal by:
1. exporting the folder inside the catalog from the laptop and store into an usb pen
2. import the catalog from the usb pen into the computer. This creates a new project/folder in the catalog, with a prefix temporary_xxxx. As far as I understand this step only copies the metadata, while the raw files are still in the usb pen.
3. drag the images from the temporary project to the NAS folder using the program interface, this actually moves the raw files.
4. drag the albums from the temporary project inside a new project in the catalog, this only moves the metadata.
That's it!
I haven't looked into what sessions are yet, but will do!
Thanks,
Martin0
