Crashes on startup
C1 v7 on a Windows 7 64bit desktop, i7 quad core, 16G ram, GT680 GPU.
Crashes on startup every single time, usually before the splash screen asking to try or activate. Works fine on my laptop, other than the bugs mentioned in other threads already. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Same problem. Any fixes for this?

I had that problem for a while when I installed a v new, but apparently incompatible graphics driver.
Try running the "do not use openclscript referenced by Ulf :
This article give links to graphic card driver updates

Also, if all fails there is scrips for disabling the use of OpenCL in Capture One.
It worked for me. I later went back and put my "older" drivers back on; and can use opencl except for processing.0 -
Can you re-post the link in the reply above?
I am having what I suspect is the same problem. I have monitoring tools on my machine (which the OP may not) and the problem is that the RAM usage climbs very rapidly and the software locks up.
Typically the RAM jumps from 9% to 100% in 3-5 seconds.... and this is on a machine with 32 GB of RAM. This is interesting primarily because the processors themselves are showing very little activity at all and 32 GB is a LOT of RAM consumption in such a short amount of time.0 -
Here is the link again

You will find the reference to the script near the bottom.0
