MediaPRO 1.3.1 As Compared to ExpressionMedia 2 SP2
[Redacted 2: I have already filed this weird behavior with P1 Tech Support and they think it is either a WIC-related or profiling of my monitors. I don't think there is anything wrong with my monitor profiles, since I recently calibrated (again) today morning to ICC4 standards using LUT option on my Eye One Color Match 3.6.2 using the i1 Display 2.]
Dear Windows Users of MediaPRO 1.3.1,
I am recently experiencing the following anomaly on my recently **formatted** computer with only the essential software related to my professional photography installed. My computer is a HP Pavilion Elite Intel Core i5 750 (from 2009) with 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM installed. My GPU is the nVIDIA 430 GT.
[Redacted: I initially formatted my computer, because I thought the softwares I installed might have wonky conflicts. As my screen capture show, there was nothing wrong with my computer configurations.]
I appeared before you humbled and am soliciting your assistance regarding whether or not you are having a similar odd behavior. I created a screen capture showcasing my problem and frustration.

If you solved this problem, I'd like to know your solution!

@Ronald
I formatted the computer two days ago and reinstalled capture one 6.4.3 and the Media Pro 1.3.2. It seems it did not fix the problem in Media Pro. The problems that I am encountering in Media Pro 1.3.2 are the following
1.) After updating the folders I cannot preview the tiff files
2.) After updating Media Pro crashes
3.) suddenly crashed upon opening Media Pro.
4. Keywords does not sync with Capture one even though I setup both software to integrate.
I installed the Expression Media 2, it s far stable than Media Pro, I don't encounter those problems. However preview will now have rendering of PhaseOne. At the moment I'm using the Expression Media 2.
Anyway the lightroom 4 you recommended in fb page is horrible in RAW conversion, is cannot match Capture One 6 Pro output, however LR4 dam is really stable.0 -

Do you have a example for this?
I'm sure C1 is a fine RAW Converter, bun I'm not sure that its really better then LR4 (OK maybe if you are using Phase One Hardware)0 -
I insist we stay on topic, please. My thread isn't to commence initiating discussion about RAW conversion between C1PRO and LR.
Thank you for your understanding.0 -
Hi,
it was not my intention !!! but its really very interesting for my if somebody mean C1 is much better than LR4. I would like know why.
To your problem - do you have to try what the support told you about reset oder disable your Display-profile?
Last time a read very often that the display Profiles are very important problem for a new version different Software (DxO, Lightroom). I can't tell you why.
I another forum I read as example - DxO support told to a user - set the Display Profiles first to sRGB. Lather (I'm sorry I don't know the timeline) you can enable your own profiles again.

Good afternoon Robert,
Thank you for the post; if you would like to know more about C1PRO, please free free to engage me in private dialogue and I'll be glad to help you. I have been using the software since 3.7.8 and so I pretty much know my way around C1PRO.
Cheers,

Hello Ron,
thank you very much.

***UPDATE***
PhaseONE's MediaPRO engineer has personally extended his hand to help me sort out the anomaly of the "black images." The black images occur when I tell MP to render the images using the PhaseONE engine from scratch, without using preexisting embedded thumbnails in the RAW file.
I'll update once again.
As a consumer, I am not upset, just disappointed. It is no big deal. I'll simply downgrade to MediaExpression 2 until a solution has been arrived. No biggie.0 -
***UPDATE*** — August 7, 2012 We have narrowed the issue down to a bug in the Phase One rendering engine. The issue is the input levels (when set to anything other than zero) are not read correctly.
It is reported to development to fix as a priority
Thank you PhaseONE! I have trust and confidence in the company. When I first discovered the inconvenience, I was let down. It wasn't a big deal, I still had access to the previous incarnate that is MediaExpression 2. Using a DAM software makes it EASIER to embed metadata.
I guess that means my brownie points are stacking up with PhaseONE! I was the ONLY one that reported and now the company acknowledged as a bug.
Let's continue making progress with MediaPRO!0
