C1 and sony alpha 700 - still doesn't work
I've been using C1(v 4.1.2 now) with my old Minolta 5D, and I was very satisfied with the software.
Now I've changed my camera to sony alpha 700, and unfotunatelly I can't get proper results. Images from a700 are blunt, with low contrast and histogram shifted to the right, just as described here . I've downloaded C1 PRO which claims to support a700 - well it doesn't I mean results are the same as wit C1.
Trick with DNG conversion helps a little, but results are still far from perfect.
I've got software that renders my RAW-s correctly - UFRaw, Picasa and Sony's software to mention a few, so I know that problem is with C1, not my pictures (anyway if I take pictures in RAW + jpeg mode I can see that RAW-s aren't rendered properly).
I'd love to hear some explanation from C1 team - as I've mentioned I was quite satisfied with the software, even considering upgrade to PRO (mostly because of the two monitors spport), but unfortunately as for now, C1 is unusable for me.

I can only 100% quote you, and I can add some more complains:
- RAW files of the Sony A900 can't be opened (program crash)
- No DNG files can be worked (Raw DNG are supported, aren't they?)
- 4 of 5 times the program crashes at startup. The 5th one crashes during image enlarging.
Tried on 2 PCs with windows xp sp3, same results.
Is this a pre-alpha software?

Walter, with all respect, but if CO 4.5 behaves like you describe on 2 PCs, you should consider the option of other causes. I do not have Sony A900 files, but work with DNG all the time without problems. CO 4.5 seldom or never crashes on startup.
Tip: have you tried to clear the .col files from Capture One Library for a start?0 -

Well I don't have any issues with stability - and I'm running C14 on an old 1,5GHz Centrino with 2GB RAM. It's the colors that are wrong ...0 -

Paul, all my respect to you, of course, but...
I've tried to reinstall from the absolute scratch, no dice.
I've tried DNG built from raw files of 3 different cameras, Minolta 7D and Sony A700 and A900, as per P1 instructions (e.g. Raw DNG, not linear DNG), no dice.
I'm out of resources at the moment, I give up to CO.
OTOH, I'll be very glad of an exchange of DNG files between us to test the behaviour of CO 😊0 -

Walter, sorry to hear you are not successful in your endeavors here. I am happy to make some Leica M8's native DNG files available to you. If you like me to test some of your DNG (or Sony raw files), be my guest. You can leave a message on my web site (neglect the Dutch language), Contact page and I will contact you.0 -
I have C1 v4.5 running on a Win XP SP3 and I do not seem to have problems with A4's raw, both simple RAW and cRAW the way the original poster has quoted. I do not see "shifting of the histograms to the right" nor other odd effects. 0 -

Well I can send you offending file, and if you could post me back resulting TIF I could start searching for issue somewhere else. Let me knoe if it's possible,

Hi, Bolek, if you can post the raw file in question somewhere, I can start from there. 0 -
