Variants order not preserved
When picking, promoting or denoting Variants, I find that the updated order is not maintained after quitting C1. Some times it does, but most of the times the order reverts to the original. Very annoying. Is this just me or a know bug?

No known bug.
Are you using Catalogs or Sessions? What is your OS, specifically? Are you using 7.1.2?
Is promoting the Variant the last thing you do prior to quitting?0 -
Hi Drew,
Thanks for your response. I'm using Catalogs, I'm on 10.8.4 and using 7.1.2 (trial mode for another couple of days until I make a decision). Doesn't seem to make a difference if promoting is the last thing I do. Just made a check for an image with three Variants, selected Pick for the third variant which then got promoted to the top. Just clicked around a bit before quitting. On relauch the order was in fact preserved. Did nothing at all other than navigating to the image with variants to see the order, quit the application and relauched. The order had then been reverted to the old one without my picks. It does look like the system prefers the order which the Variants were originally created, but can't say for sure.
Ps. This is under "All Images", I don't have these particular images in an Album.

Just tried again with the image in an Album. Created a new album, dragged the image with it's three Variants to the Album. Selected Pick on the third Variant and quit the application. Order was reverted to the original after relauch.

Where are you saving the Catalog? 0 -
Not sure I understand. My Catalog is located under ~/Pictures/.

Issue still persists. I ended up buying license for Capture One Express due to the 50% off campain (great value!), so at least I can confirm that this issue is not related to the trial version 😊
Any ideas to what I might be doing wrong? I create a new variant and pick or promote the variant. If I quit and relaunch the application, most of the time the order gets reversed to the one before promoting (not always for some strange reason).

This issue is still present in 7.1.3. I will submit a support ticket.

My support case on this was closed without solution somehow, have re-issued a request. Am I the only one who's experiencing this rather annoying issue? Any suggestions?

Any ideas on this? I re-opnened my support case asking if I could supply them with more information, but have not heard back from support..

Finally customer support were able to recreate this observation and have confirmed and reported this as a bug, possible only on certain systems. Since it appears that not many others have observed this I'm suspecting this to be a rare bug, but still hoping for a bug fix. Anyways, just wanted to give some kudos to the excellent CS team. A big reason for buying Capture 1 😊
Cheers,
