Bugs observed with 8.3.0
Hi all, having used 8.3.0 since the release, here is what I observed:
- In process tool tab, in the subfolder name token, the last caracters are white sometimes, when you try to change the name. If you go to sub name token and back then it comes back to normal, but it is a bit annoying.
- with a Mac Pro 12cores, 64GB ram and D700 GPU, had to deactivate Open CL because every once in a while the tiffs 8 bits that I processed would have defaults, such as square parts in the file with a different exposure/colors... It's a pity because otherwise I could observe that there is a bigger difference in time processing with or without Open CL now, I don't know if it's because of 8.3.0 but if I could use the Open CL it would be absolutely great... (30 seconds to process 10 P65 files in tiff 8 bits, that's amazing! 😊 )
- The new camera tool tab is absolutely great, much easier to have all these parameters in one tool tab! And camera settings are fine too.
But is it normal that we cannot change the exposure program?
For now this what I can say, I'll keep you updated with any other thing in this post! Am curious to hear other staff if anyone is using it?! That way we can improve it quicker!!
cheers,
BO

Using ratings and colors with sidecar xmp files seem to be broken, see also viewtopic.php?f=55&t=19142&p=93078 0 -

That may depend on the camera. A mechanical change on the device can not be remotely set. A software-based change however, can. Which camera are you referring to in particular?0 -
I’m having a similar issue with 8.30 and also 8.2.3 and 8.2.2. In the process recipe file tab the sub name and sub folder boxes are having a font issue. When typing any character, a straight vertical line is placed aside each character typed. If the delete key is typed, a white highlight appears over each character deleted but nothing gets deleted. When clicking out of and back into the box the type is then normal and the deletes are normal. This doesn’t happen in the output naming pallette, only the output location pallette. I’m running 10.9.5 on a MacBook Pro Retina. I tried a clean system install of 10.9.5, installed captureone 8.3.0 and the problem remains. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks,

Hey,
I noticed that with the grid tool i can't get the orange guides anymore. Did anybody get this as well?
Do you know how to fix it?
Thanx0 -

Some extended features have been added. They tend to mean a slightly different overall approach has been required.
Check out the Preferences (set you own guide colour requirement).
Check out the View menu where the Guides can be turned on and off and new Guide Lines added.
HTH.

All images blurred.
Thousands of images missing.
Probably going to delete 8.3 from my system and delete the catalog it destroyed.
Gladly I backed up the catalog before upgrading (I know Phase One has buggy updates) - I mean a complete copy of 45+ Gigabytes, so I just have to drag it across.
I will definitely delete 8.3 from my system. Total trainwreck.
What version do you suggest I downgrade to? 8.2.2 - or go back to 7 to be on the safe side?0 -

You could perhaps go back to Version 6? Or maybe 5?
8.3 is no "Train Wreck" for me .... but then I use Windows 7 and have never experienced the mass of problems that some mac users seem to discover.
Having posted about your apparent problems in several threads of the forum one has to ask whether you have also sought advice from the Capture One support team who may well be better placed to assist you with your technical issues than anyone here.
You have raised a Support Case haven't you? If not it would be a wise thing to do.

Same here; does not happen in 8.0, just in the 8.3 upgrade. Disappointing because so much of the new update (8.0) is quite nice from 7x. On another's computer, I was having trouble with things like the type being black against a black background, or white against a white background so that you couldn't see the naming of the files etc... Don't know if it's a combination of OS and C1 combos or what.0 -
Well, it seems different people experienced different bugs.
I was coming from COP 7 and the sharpness was OK - not always as sharp as when you went in 100%. Like older versions of Photoshop where e.g. a 33% screen view could be way worse than a 50% view. Photoshop ironed this out after cs3.
But I could see this effect in COP 7. But it was still OK to use. I expected a big step in regard to good display quality in 8, but the opposite was the case. It's like a a blur filter applied to the image.
And then there's the problem that about two dozen folders with a couple of thousand images have disappeared from the catalog.0 -

It's software - do you seriously think that's not going to happen?
But the problem you've been spamming the forum about is almost certainly something to do with your local environment as much as Capture One itself.0 -

I’ve been recently informed by Phase that they’ve concluded this is a glitch with 8.3.0 and 10.9.5. It has not yet been resolved with 8.3.1. It seems to be ok on 10.9.2 and may work with yosemite.0
