Batch Renaming and Capture Date in Metadata

hi there, following is the issue:

1. batch rename: is there a way to actually use the existing filename as a token in order to append additional information to filename? i.e. i'd like to be able to just prefix the current filename with an autoincrement number.... why? see below:

2. i do shoot wedding with different camera bodies and shooters. after consolidating all files, i'd like to actually sort the gallery for the customer based on the timestamp, but do not want go give away any other EXIF info. is there a nice way to actually retain the EXIF capture data + IPTC/XMP while i get rid all tech EXIFs? (e.g. aperture, FL, shutter, make, model)

  Yes, part of the import menu, as long as you do not "Import In-place". The file is renamed with a fairly long list of tokens.

  Yes, part of the export menu, Metadata is divided into 5 groups (one is camera metadata), you can select which groups are included.
