And I'm giving the same answer as I gave then. It isn't a feature of Capture One (though it might be a good one).

    Try this
Go to C1 Preferences > Crop Tap and Grid > Type: Change to "Center Cross". This has helped me center products such as bottles and other symmetrical items when cropping.

Also, turning on Gird and Guides can help. Menu Bar > View Gird and Guides. Make sure to Rest the Guides if you have moved them in the past. If you add a Guide it will always center in Crop just like the "Center Cross".

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the tip. It does help a bit. I've also now learnt the grid show/hide shortcut and made the background colour solid white which helps visually centre items.

This reminded me why cropping in C1 is the worst. Say I want to center on a piece of artwork, in Lightroom I would line up both sides of the crop on the piece of art and then pull from the center to evenly scale the space on the sides. Changing the aspect ratio then requires you to re-click and drag instead of just changing the aspect ratio from the one you already spent time setting up. The lack of these features makes it difficult to be precise and/or consistent among the various aspect ratios I might need to deliver.

Our day has finally come, centre cropping is now a thing in CO 20!
    Just hold option/alt while cropping.

    Thank you PhaseOne!
