Well logic regarding not working with catalog is that why would you have a catalog which you convert to a catalog?
    Seems like double work.
Session is a session which you then convert post shoot in to a catalog.
This makes more sense, you might not agree, but it makes sense.

MP 1.5 supports up to Capture One 8.1.1

I've read this more often from you, wanting to have a catalog in two places. I don't understand that.

What are you trying to achieve by doing this? For me, the catalog (in whichever application you choose) is the master of my images. Then i "send" the images from there to various processing software. It is the one and only place where i do rating and add keywords.

If i would do this in another place too, then who would be "in charge" when there is a conflict?

Not judging your approach, but i don't understand it at all. Perhaps is i (and other users of course) understand you, we can help you with suggestions.

    my Workflow with Catalog ....
    1. when i use Capture One 8 i have to select a catalog or Session ...... right
    2. when i import my images from Camera to C1 i store them inside the Catalog .... right !
    3. inside my one Main Catalog is now approx. 50 T Images are stored in one place and folder called " Capture One Catalog " .... right !
    4. now i can control my Images Workflow only from C1 , because no authors Programs can open this catalog as C1, right ..
thats means i can Open and Edit my Images only by using C1 8 .... right !
    5. i don't like the DATE MANAGEMENT inside C1 " because it is very poor, thats way i decide to bay a DAM for working better and beside C1 8
and of course the Nr 1 Media Pro from the Same Builder way not .... but it dos not Works !
    6. now i decide to find any kind of DAM works nearly to C1 8 like Read and Write Manage the Catalog Date from C1 .

    i tell you

Way not working with Session with different Places on HD like the Windows Folder technic ? and the very nice organization behind it .
    1. i am using a Mac . one place for Pictures " Library" moving or organizing it easy wear you like ...
    2. Because C1 reduce his Workflow speed performance when working with Session Mode ! read hear about this Problem.
and i also triad it by my self and waist for the converting process a lot of time .

    thanks for your help !

That's the point Ulf. It only supports up to 8.1.1. It should work with any update of CO 8
